Sis and I

My sister and I decided to go to and get our parents a satellite internet package for their house since they’ve recently decided they hate phones. I know that sounds totally silly but you know, at the end of the day we’ll do what it takes to keep in touch with them and if this is the way of the week I guess it’s what we’ve got to do. Our mom loves to online shop and social network so she’s all about Facebook and emailing us the little details of her day. I can’t imagine a better thing for her than internet at home! She’s been begging us for a new laptop but they’re really expensive so she just may have to wait until Christmas for that one. And when did the kids have to start giving the big Christmas giftsto their parents? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around! I guess some things change as you get older and never go back…

Thanksgiving Coming

I’ve been panicking already about Thanksgiving…is that crazy? My husband and I just got married in March so we decided it would be great for us to host Thanksgiving this year. What was I thinking? I don’t know why with this brand new house and not even unpacked all the way I would invite 20 people over for a homecooked meal but you know, I did, so I’m going to have to think of something. I’ve been watching those cable Food channels endlessly hoping to get some ideas for the big meal but they haven’t really dived in headfirst to all the holiday cooking yet. Plus, our kitchen is pretty small and I’ve only got one oven so it’s going to be a stretch no matter what we decide to cook. I can’t wait to show off the new house to everyone but I’m just going to have to make sure I try and enjoy the day and don’t get too stressed about playing “hostess” to everyone. That’s my biggest issue when we have people over!

Thanks for the article from Robin Woodard

Pre-fense Hand Sanitizer Review and Giveaway!

Sponsored by

I am a big fan of hand sanitizers! I use one everyday but I am always a little mellow because it does dry up my hands. I had the opportunity to review the Prefense  Silica based hand sanitizer which smooths, softens and protects with only one application for 24 hours! It has a great scent and I am loving that it is alcohol free!

It is a wonderful hand sanitizer! It has a wonderful application design -- I am able to squeeze out the foam effortlessly with my finger. The foam is great because it does not create messy runny messes. It will just stay in your hand and not slip through your fingers. It has a cap so that you may put it in your purse on protect it from  getting clogged.

After applying my hands with it--I did noticed my hands being smoother and feeling cleaner. I loved the experience --so I am sold on this product!

Prefense is generously allow me to hold a contest to let you tr it! Best of all, one of my readers will receive a full size 8 oz. bottle for approximately 640 applications.

Red Hot Brain Itch

Ever since I discovered the Red Hot Chili Peppers I have been a dear fan. After my ever lasting fever for their album Stadium Arcadium (when I drove everywhere and jammed hard core to it); I decided I just had to see them. And I did. I have only seen them once in concert and I really do hope they start their US tour soon not just stick to the UK. I remember I was very shocked to see John Frusicante's mane gone! ( I have a thing for men with long hair) So that was over. However never did really loose the enthusiasm for Anthony
Kiedis. Even read his autobiography (loved him meeting the Dalai Lama) and dying to see him on  HBO's Spider and Son.

When I first heard the song I didn't really like it. When I heard it on the radio over and over again; I started to like it. A lot. Now I can't get it out of my head. Did you ever wonder why this happens? As it turns out--there are many theories.

When you hear a familiar song; your brains' auditory cortex needs to "fill in the gaps" on a song's rhythm which is know as the "brain itch". Like a rash you scratch and scratch from a mosquito bite.  So, you would need to hear that song over and over again until you have had your fill. Other theories include suppressed thoughts or another theory; a way to keep the brain working while being idle.

Win Daniel Defoe's Moll Flanders

Enter  to WIN

Moll Flanders recounts the story of her extraordinary life, from her birth in Newgate prison to her declining years in married prosperity. After being seduced in the home of her adoptive family she lives off her wits and her beauty, as a whore, 'five times a Wife', and a thief, and is eventually transported to Virginia for her crimes. Rich and penitent, Moll reflects on a world that is both good and evil, just as the reader both abhors and admires her. Arguably the first English novel, Moll Flanders is also a romance, its heroine in perpetual search for a lost familial paradise.
